Leon County residents are reporting a loose bison on Buck Lake Road. The Leon County Sheriff's office is working to wrangle the animal.

Update 3:20 p.m.:  The wayward bison has been wrangled, it's owner, Johnny Petrandis helped deputies from the Leon County Sheriffs Office herd the animal back to its enclosure.

Original Story:   Officials are not sure who owns the bison. A person working at the Tallahassee Auto Museum says it's not theirs. Museum owner DeVoe Moore farms water buffalo.

Local realtor Johnny Petrandis also keeps bison. A woman answering the phone at his office says she didn't think the animal belonged to Petrandis but couldn't confirm all his buffalo are accounted for. Buffalo are domestic animals, much like cattle. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the incident falls outside its jurisdiction.
