Docs Versus Glocks Legal Tab Exceeds $1 Million

Taxpayers are on the hook for slightly more than $1 million in legal fees after the state lost its battle to defend the controversial “Docs versus Glocks” law.

The Brady Center to Prevent Hand Gun Violence claims it cost Florida $1.1 million to defend the 2011 law barring doctors from questioning patients about gun ownership.

The National Rifle Association said the law was needed to prevent harassment. But pediatricians argued the law violated free-speech rights and their ability to warn parents about gun safety.
